Royal Navy Korean War
Though this is not a badge question - I am hoping that the RN experts might be able to help me.
Can anyone tell me what SHPT. 3. R.N. would have meant on a Korean War Royal Navy medal please ? Also O.2378 - would it be orderly ? ordinary seaman ? Thanks in advance hkbuttonman |

Up to 1947 Shipwright (3rd class) then on 23rd January 1948 title changed to Shipwright Artificer (Shpt.Art.3)

Hi Mike,
The medal is officially impressed O.2378 CHON. YAT. SANG. SHPT.3. RN I am presuming it was to one of the Hong Kong enlisted RN crew. KS |

Not my area but I wonder if the 'O' is the "Port Division" prefix indicating overseas/overseas territory ?
