William Thomas Tanford, East Riding of Yorkshire Yeomanry in full dress uniform, 1907.
He served in South Africa during the Boer War as Corporal, 116, 2nd (Wiltshire) Company, 1st Battalion, Imperial Yeomanry. He was entitled to the Queen's South Africa Medal with four clasps.

Superb photo of a rare uniform. He has the senior NCO type of tunic with silver lace. I am assuming he was a musketry instructor with the crown and rifles on the lower right sleeve, but normally this was seen above the chevrons. I don't know if this was a regimental affectation or what. The marksman award is in the normal place on lower left sleeve.
