Default LEICESTERSHIRE???

Hi All!

I've found this badge but i'm not sure of it. The scroll "Lecestershire" is a poor quality. I didn't saw a badge like this in the forum...
Could you give me your opinion, please?
Cheers

Hi there,

Sorry but I don't like the look of your tiger badge. If you look in my Leicesters album you will see majority will have brazing holes for top and bottom scrolls. These are a better guide to an original badge as being a manufacturers way of attaching two different pieces of different metal together. The slider is very broad and straight and well away from the back of the badge none of which is a good sign I am afraid. A tapered slider with crimp mark again would be good to see.

I will have a second look later on my pc rather than iPad so I can see the detail better.

Again have a look in my Leicestershire album as a guide, happy to assist if I can, earlier pre 1908 Liecesters badges will be lugged.

Cheers Dean.

Hi,
I'm sorry to insist but there is a little crimp at the top of the slider!
The scroll "hindoostan" is in all white metal. May be a variant badge...
Cheer.

Apologies L.

I missed the crimp mark to the slider on first quick look. the Hindoostan scroll is indeed a one piece white metal scroll that is not die struck.
Couldn't see these on my iPad. Well I think you have a variant there and a story to go with it no doubt.

Well spotted and be happy with that one, always good to find a variant, would find a good home for it !

cheers Dean

Default Converted

IMO It looks to me to be an interesting badge that has some time in its life been converted from a TA Leicestershire Rgt badge. The top scroll looks to be high Qaulity silver normally seen on officers cap badges.

Sorry but I do not like it. the construction, slider style and blacking is suspect to me.
