Default Gordons SBP ?

Just received this badge in the mail. I don't have much experience with these so am looking for comments. It seems to have some age to it but it has been rode hard and put away wet. Rear fastening are missing and there have been 4 holes drilled through it . Parts of the front surface have been worn down. That being said it's got some character and my hope is that it's a good one...

Hi Jim,
I cannot comment on the authenticity of the badge but the 4 drill holes may have been made for an overlay to bring the badge up to a later pattern, I have seen this on a couple of Rifle Volunteer badges.
Not much but hope it helps
Paul

Little drilled holes were quite common in early badge 'displays'. The original lugs would have been sawn off and then nailed on to a board. It's what my gt gfthr did with his badges etc !!!!
