This badge was among some items I got at a estate sale and have not seen one before. Any input would be appreciated

It is a CEF badge.

Good evening,
I confirm, it's a cap badge of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. They are workers, not fighters.
3rd company workers "infantry works".
See the booklet Lenard L Babin "Canadian expoditionary cap badges Forces" No. 41-2
There were 4 companies with identical badges except No.
