Strange WW1 Officers Shoulder Title
Hello,
I recently obtained some named photographs of several officers in the 17th (S) Bn (2nd City) Manchester Regiment taken in July 1917 before the 3rd Battle of Ypres. All are wearing white on red MANCHESTER curved cloth shoulder titles on each arm, of a type worn on early SD by other ranks. The position is also odd, being a couple of inches below the shoulder line. I have not seen this before on Manchester Regt officers, has anyone else seen it in other Infantry regiments of that period? regards
