Sir's, Can anyone state when the KK 700 curled scrolls appeared?

There is no record but it is group opinion that it was 1915 or so when the demand for badges saw badges produced in large numbers by non-traditional makers. In this case they used a PofW feathers die to make the Leinsters.

From their quality, or lack of, I would presume early WW1 during the time various subcontractors with little to no badge making experience came to the fore.
To date however no photos of this badge in wear exist to my knowledge. |
