Default Help with recent purchase please

Hello all,

I recently purchased this badge with the Prince of Wales's motif and cannot find out which regiment it is, or if it is good or not. Thanks in advance for all replies.

Regards Alan Y.

This looks very like the Duke of Yorks Royal Military School badge worn prior to 1898 (K&K vol 1 page 274) in gilding metal. Otherwise...??

Default Wiltshire Yeomanry?

This looks to me to be a Wiltshire Yeomanry cap badge, but POW feathers have been attributed to various other units.

Collar badge..... 3DG, 12th Lancers & possibly 10th Hussars. It could also have been a Cap badge worn in the PWORWY.

Alan,
I'm with Griff on this one and you have a genuine collar badge worn by several Cavalry Regiments!

Thanks, gentlemen, for all of your replies. Very helpful, I wondered if it might be a bit large for a collar badge, but the scale on the Ebay page looks about the same as mine, just under 1 ½” across the scrolls and about 1 ¼” high or about 37 mm across and 32 mm high.

Regards Alan Y.
