Help with Identification?
If anyone could help me with this it would be much appreciated!
Can anyone help identify the badges around his collar? I understand they are very small and very poor quality but I’m really not sure where else to go from here. All we know is he was in the Canadian Army in World War One (as seen in his cap badge) and his first name, Arthur. Any help is most welcome, although I do understand they are difficult to identify, especially in such a small and grainy photograph. Thanks arty.jpg Arty2.jpg Badges closeup.jpg |

To add to your problem, the collar badges are Canadian, but they are general list. They were worn by almost all units in the First World War. The cap badge in the first image is interesting. It is a Victorian crown Canadian general list cap badge, but the uniform appears to be a British issue 5 button tunic.

Hi David, That thought occured to me, but the uniform is a First World War pattern from what I can see. Somewhere in the dark corners of research, I remember something about QVC general list badges being issued in First World War.

Bill, I'd say the collars are QVC as well.
