I'll start with the Seaforth Highlanders, it ought to be White-metal, this looks brassy in picture, looking at the Stag left Ear is congealed metal, could be a bad strike if it is w/m I think it a good badge because of the 3 lugs! Could be Nicotine staining giving it the Black Watch and Royal Scots the brassy tinge?

Royal Scots I thought Economy issue! But rear showing scroll attached so Eagle ought to be w/m (I think?) I have seen an all gun-metal but was an all in one strike woul need to go and check! if it is w/m then a good badge as is the Black Watch, Gordons looks good from the rear! all the best billy

The footed lugs on the BW badge would make me think twice.
Cheers,
Alex

I liked the Black Watch one ? I didn't think that type of footed lug was fake ? The braze looks good to me ? IMHO

Hi guys
These are very grubby.
I might give them a quick going over with soap and water and a soft brush.
The white metal isn’t very white. And there is a powdery white polish on them.
Interested to hear about the 3 lugs on the seaforths. I don’t think I’ve come accross that before?
The fronts all worry me to some degree but the rears all look good. The brazing is spot on for the period.
The footed lug was initially a concern but like Andy I thought this type was ok?
Anyway. I’m still interested in your thoughts.

The Gordons and Seaforth are OK, but note that the Seaforth has bad corrosion on some of the antlers, one crumbling away.
The RSG is very doubtful in my opinion, the strike and quality is not good and it does not have the uneven tops of the wings usually seen on good ones. The BW might actually OK; the footed lugs are not quite the same as the more infamous spade shaped feet.

Not sure, they are good sturdy looking lugs so not typical footed ones, so maybe they are ok.
