Thumbs down from me, but it'd make a good logo for a computer game.

The comment's already been made -inspired by the Selous Scouts?

The more I think about it the more I'm thinking it is very similar to an existing computer game logo.....

Already mentioned in the article, but definitely a strange 'Selous Scouts' copy. Not at all in keeping with the 'British style' of badge either.

Telegraph has an article :

Quote:
Fury as new Army regiment’s cap badge ‘identical’ to apartheid terror squad

Officers say design for Ranger Regiment cap matches that of the Selous Scouts, which fought black insurgent armies in former Rhodesia

Bearing in mind the Army is smaller than ever I am dubious as to where they are going to draw the 'higher quality' Rangers from? Can you really fill the selection courses for Para, Cdo, SAS, SRR, etc and also fill these 4 battalions with trained soldiers?

Quite easily the worst British cap badge I’ve ever seen.

It even surpasses the much disliked 16 AA Bde eagle patch and that was got rid of as soon as the Parachute Regiment could persuade the powers that be to give them the Pegasus back.

It looks like someone nicked the eagle logo off some fake Armani jeans.

Sticking with the bird badge theme, how about adopting the chaffinch as a badge for the non ranger units as they'd comprise the chaff once the Ranger wheat's been beaten out of them.

You have definitely got that ‘Spot on’.
It just looks…….well ordinary and banal. Such a shame
