RMA Cloth Shoulder Titles??
Hi,
Just bought a lot of genuine Malta related items and this pair of blue on red cloth shoulder titles were amongst them. I do believe they are repros, but can't confirm as I had never a pair to compare to. Size wise they are slightly wider than the red on blue which I believe to be the case with the originals. These where worn post-war (1950s onwards) Would anyone be able to confirm my thoughts? Thank you |

Copies originating from the sub-continent. The lettering is too thin and "weedy"; the backs show signs of the extensive network of "spaghetti" common to these productions, and they seem to have learnt to put backings on their titles now, to try and hide the tangled web underneath, but not very successfully.

Reminds us of a quotation from ‘Marmion A tale of Flodden Field’ the epic poem by Sir Walter Scott published in 1808.
"Oh, what a tangled web we weave, When first we practise to deceive!" Tim

Thank you for your confirmation.
Will keep till I find an original pair! They might become antique till that day Regards, Vincent |
