9th Canadian Field Ambulance badge

A question on the badge named in the title...
I have the opportunity to buy such a badge. Sadly I can not provide a picture yet, as I haven't got the badge at hand.

Earlier this week I have been contacted by someone local that inherited two frames of badges: 'If I had any interested in buying these, as they were of no interest to him'.
Went to his house and was showed two frames with 130+ badges (British, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand, all mixed up in the frames).

Most are run of the mill badges, line-regiments, but some interesting as well.
The one that catched my eye the most, was a badge that says 'AMB/9/CANADA.
Never seen one of those before...
Had a snoop around on the internet and found that the 9th Canadian Field Ambulance was attached in the 3rd Division and was in fact quite near to my home village both in 1916 and in 1917.
So for local history the badge seems very interesting.

However, I nowhere see mention of a badge to this unit.
Also in the CEF project I don't see the badge mentioned...
Is this something either unique to this unit, locally made or something more like the 9th Canadian Infantry: a cadre-only badge?

(there's also a 13th Australian Light Horse badge in the frames (who in fact were here as well in 1917) but the info on that badge shows that there's quite some repros made from that badge so I don't have high hopes on that.

If anyone could shed a light in the 9th Canadian Field Ambulance badge, that would be great :-)

Charlton has it listed in his book First World War Canadian Corps Badges. IT's Listed as a cap badge made by Birks in pickled brass with either tags or lugs as fasteners...As much as I can tell about it....t

Jim, I think Charlton is in error by describing the 9 FD AMB badge as a cap badge. It appears to be a shoulder title. Cap badges should include the Tudor crown. (There are some exceptions to that rule.) There is some documentation in archives that indicates the cap badges for units like the CAMC and CASC should be the corps badge, but unit identities can be represented on other insignia.
