Default RNZIR Badge with unusual lugs

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone has any info on this Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment badge.

The attachments/lugs on the back are quite unusual to me and its quite a well made badge.

Could it be possibly an officer's badge?

Regards,

Mick

Same as the badge I was issued when I was in 1RNZIR in the early 80s. The front section would sometimes fall off. There was no difference between officers and ORs unlike a lot of other corps and unit badges in the NZ Army
