The 23rd Hussars is a genuine Firmin die badge and the 26th Hussars is a common fake.

Hi CB, I am somewhat confused about what you are saying here:

a) the type 13 Hussar badge shown is a fake;
b) all badges of this type are fakes; in that case what does a 13 Hussar badge look like?
c) something else

This is a genuine one.

The badge was worn after WW1 in the cap as one period photo have proven. It was not a style commonly worn by ORs but was usually worn by officers.
