Hi Ray,
A very warm welcome. I have always had soft spot for Wales since going to school in Penally, Pembrokeshire, for a few months during WW2 and getting extra maths because I could not learn to sing 'Land of My Fathers' in Welsh, a song I much admire, but it was no go with me, I just could not handle it, and curiously, because of that I developed a love of mathematics. so 'Thank you Wales" John

Hi Ray,
At the start of the war my sister and I were evauated from Gillingham, Kent, to a 'Safe' place: DOVER !!!!!!!. Yeah, that's right, and one of the first cross channel shells fell in the garden of the house we were billeted in, but we had moved on by then, back to the 'safer' retreat of Gillingham, with Chatham, its barracks, and the Dockyard right next door, which of course were equally fine targets. Life became a bit of a travelling circus after that, and I was in Penally because my father was stationed there for a while with the Royal Marines. Regards, john
