Canadian Shoulder Titles
I would very much appreciate an expert opinion(s) on these titles (just rediscovered after 30 odd years in the depths of my unmounted signs etc). Canadian or British made? Many thanks. Mike

Hi Mike, Are you referring to the place of manufacture?

Yes - place of manufacture (and probably genuine or obvious repro?) Mike

You have a mix of Canadian and British made titles, some WWII era and some post war.
The 48th Highlanders title exhibits characteristics of WWII manufacturing but the shape was never authorized and no photographic evidence has been found showing them in wear. Also never seen an example showing signs of being worn. |

Hi Mike,
Ron has discussed the 48th, and I agree with his assessment on that title. The Irish Regt is good, Cdn made pattern. NNSH, does it have a backing or is it starc back? It is a Brit pattern. The Reg Rifles looks like a starch back. The LSR is a Brit made pattern. I have not seen evidence of it in wear. The Fort Garry Horse is a post war pattern. The remaining titles appear to be Brit pattern which have not been seen in use.

Thank you both very much. Here's the reverse of three of the titles. Mike

Hi Mike, The NNSH is a nice UK made pattern. The Reg Rif is the starch back pattern. For some reason the maker changed the proportions of their title and it is more oval than the embroidered or printed patterns. The LSR is another good UK pattern, but I have not seen evidence of it in wear.
