Default Ebay - Long Range Desert Group Silver Badge

This LRDG badge in unmarked silver is presently on Ebay at a Buy It Now of 149.99 by a seller kaysmart2002.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LRDG-Long...EAAOSwijBdxvhB

Is it genuine ? The reason I ask is I saw two for sale in an Essex Antique Fair today both with silver stamped on the reverse. Pattern identical to this Ebay one and asking 75 pounds each. Seller claimed they were original and sourced in NZ.

Thanks

It’s total rubbish. A Martin Marsh catalogue fake in silver.

Cool LRDG

hkbuttonman,

I think I had the pleasure of meeting this dealer in an Essex antique fair and got the same story about how he'd bought the LRDG badge on his stall whilst in New Zealand, the badge he had was like this one, rubbish.

Indeed, I have been watching this seller's offerings for awhile now and much of it looks bad.

Very true most are bad but my suggestion is buy every badge on its merits not because of who’s selling it.

Both these badges came from this seller and combined cost me under £40.

I think that they were originally made for putting into frames for some of the veteran's clubs around the country.

I've got one just like this that I purchased way back for about 10 quid!
