Not military !!!!!!
I like books on non military badges that help identify items that possibly could be military but are not ( if you see what I mean)
This morning for £1 I picked up the little 1958 book on Scout County Badges, unfortunately not in colour but at least one badge in it was incorrectly identified as Militaria in a collection I once saw. Also nice to see the badge I wore in the Cubs and Scouts. P.

Nice find Peter, looks like the original owner was a collector, having ticked off the badges he has acquired.

Badges and Caps of Public Schools
A good find and useful reference.
For a long time I’ve been wondering where to post the below images which shows Public School caps and badges in hope it may be useful to ID badges misidentified as OTC/CCF. Hopefully the pictures are clear enough to be of help. |

Peter,
Very useful. I wore the Liverpool Liver Bird from 1959 until the mid 1960s in the 11th Crosby cubs and scouts. I think we became ‘Merseyside’ in the late 1960s? Tim

26th Picton, why named Picton I don’t know but on a quadrant of areas tucked back in the cinder path over the road adjacent to Queens Drive opposite from Forbes House which was probably a natural progression for me and many to be an Army Cadet

1st Cheshunt, both as a Cub and Scout, Senior Sixer in The Squirrel patrol.
Oh those were the days, sizzling sausages on a stick over open fires, and eating them half cooked, filling water bottles form woodland streams, Health and Safety............never heard of it. I have my Scout shirt still in my loftr with Scout cords and badges adorning it............doesn't fit though. Regards. Brian |

I think I've got a couple of woggles somewhere, one with the gold printed emblem, the other with the later riveted gold plastic one, but that's about it.
Years ago a female I worked with became an Akela with a local pack and wore her old girl guide uniform - never has a person looked so good in an old - and too tight shirt....... |
