Sale of New Book by Ken Blake
Hello to you all, (I hope this is in the correct section)
I have completed my book of RCT Shields and Plaques and have added more than 482 images, all in colour. It has taken several years to compile and a lot of effort to bring it to you, but we got there in the end. It has now been printed with 110 pages, I have already added the RLC at the end of the book, plus a few Commonwealth shields and plaques throughout. The cost of the book is £19:99 plus p & p of £5.00 (1st class, signed for) UK only. P & P to USA £15.20 I will send payment details once interest is shown, but Paypal or Bank Transfer is required. I have set up a fb page for those who buy the book who can give me feedback over time. If you wish to have the book signed by me then please do let me know when ordering. I have asked for permission of the admins from fb pages and will be placing an advert up on the RCT Memorabilia page. If any of the admins wish to place this ad up on their fb pages then please do so, but I will not do so without their express permission. I have several Book cards, which I can add to the books when posted out, if anyone requires them for handouts. They have been added here in the post for you to copy n paste if you wish. There has not been a book of this type published throughout the history of the Corps by anyone, so it is a first. I have already posted the initial copies out to a few RCT historians and well-known individuals, and the feedback has been very inspiring, so my thanks go out to those individuals. If you are interested, then send me a PM via Forum PM (Ken Blake) or Fatboy Ken or email me @ kenblake2002@yahoo.com I will reply to all messages and posts received. The name of the book is; The Many Shields & Plaques Of The Royal Corps of Transport and their Predecessors (Including Commonwealth Units) I look forward to your replies Kind regards Ken (The Fatboy) Images below Front Cover.jpg Back Cover.jpg List of Contents.jpg Show Page.jpg Book Card (F).jpg Book Card (R).jpg

Really not my field of interest, but I'll have a copy please, show some support and loyalty to members of the forum like you, who contribute to the forum and have pride in their Corps and the motivation to produce books like this.
Even if it is about "Yorkies" stuff not Fusiliers. Email to follow. |

Hello Bewley,
They are the RASC & RCT Colours (gold over blue) If you look at the early Corps colours, Gold over blue diagonal S/T's:- Gold writing on Blue background etc. Regards Ken (The Fatboy)

Just arrived, thanks. When filed, it'll be alongside "The Empire's Waggoners" (and "The Commonwealth's Loggies" when I get a copy of that).

Ta, I remembered the first one after posting, I'd seen it listed by Waterstoned while I was checking if "Supplement" was worth getting.
I'll get around to buying one at some point, "Commonwealth Loggies" was available a few weeks ago but I didn't fancy paying £65, especially as Empire's Waggoners and the Supplement are to be had for £50 the pair. I checked the RLC Museum site as recently as yesterday but couldn't find any of those books on it. |

Leigh,
The books are on the shelf in the shop, not on-line, if you call the museum and ask over the phone they should be able to give you the price with postage. The museum is closed at the moment, can't remember when it's open again, but obviously in the early new year. Happy New Year to you and all the members of the forum, be safe all of you. Ken (The Fatboy)
