124th Bn CEF
The cap badge for the 124th Bn, later the 124th Bn Pioneers included the scroll GGBG & MH. This stood for the Governor General's Body Guard and the Mississauga Horse. However, the Battalion is not perpetuated by the GGHG (which by the scrolling, it is logically connected) but instead by the Royal Regiment of Canada.
Does anyone know why a unit named after one militia parent was perpetuated by another? A badge oddity indeed. |
