Smile Two bullion badges

I picked these up today in good condition, an Irish Guards badge measuring 42mm from point to point and a Royal Marine badge which measures 55mm high and 42mm at the widest point.

The Irish Guards has depth to it as seen in the second photo.

Could anyone tell me who would have worn these please and where they would be worn, many thanks.

Rob

Looks like the RM is a form of collar badge, given the direction the lion is facing?

Default Irish Guards Bullion badge

Hi Rob, The Irish Guards badge is an officers beret badge,

this same badge is also worn as a collar badge on the officers mess dress jacket.
regards John

Smile Bullion badges

Many thanks chaps, I guessed the Irish Guards was a beret badge, but the Marine one I thought too big for a collar, but as Leigh said the lion is the giveaway, they came out of a box of junk on a car boot sale this morning and the seller said there was another in the box, possibly the corresponding collar badge but I could not see any other badges.

Rob

The RM badge is one of a pair of the collar badges worn on mess dress by Colonels and above. The badges are approx 55mm tall by 40mm wide.

Smile RM collar

Paddy thanks for the reply, as you probably have seen from my previous post the seller said there was another badge in the box, but I could not find it among the cigarette cards and other junk etc.

Not the sort of place you would go looking for collar badges worn on mess dress by Colonels and above. I should have turned the box out, but as I was on the early shift, so work came first.
