Default DEMS

Hi there,

A little display on DEMS.

Thanks to Wooffy for having kindly pointed out to me the red on blue/black shoulder title, which just joined my little DEMS related items. I have other ones, but at the monent, due to covid-19 / teleworking, they are stored far from where I am.

Note: wasn’t sure in what rubric to post this one. Finally opted for my preferred one (Navy).

I am still on permanent search of ww2 DEMS, Royal & Commonwealth Navies, all allied free allied navies souvenirs, in particular personal papers, paybooks, id’s, amator photos/albums, etc ...

Cheers,

JD

Hello & Thank you gentlemen for your comments.

Alex: wow, your bagde is very nice! Thank you for sharing. Hopefuly I will find a similar one, one day. Any chance please to have a view of its background? If one day you consider possibly letting it go, I place myself in the queue.

Cheers,

Hi, my Wife's paternal Grandfather was a DEMS Gunner in the Maritime Royal Artillery, can post a picture if you'd like?

Hi JD
I don't have a pic of the back and won't be able to get one taken at the moment. I'll try to do it when I have time.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi,

Wooffy, Alex: thank you for your replies.

Wooffy: I personally had already read of the topics you listed above, but yes, one often forget to use the Search option of forum, when looking after information on a specific theme, so it is good refresher & to be able to link the topics between them, for later readers.

Alex: no hurry of course, whenever you can.

Cheers,

JD

Hi,

I checked the forum rules, but couldn’t find something on this: I am being offered the DEMS badge in attachment, and I would like to check by the readers of this post what should be a fair price I could pay for this badge? Please let me know.

Note to the administrators: if you estimate that this type of question is inappropriate, let me know please, and I will remove this part.

Thanks & Best Regards,

JD

45 pounds plus postage.
They are a difficult badge to get.

Hi,

A few more related DEMS related souvenirs. If I have no doubt on the paper items (the DEMS pocket book belonged to & is annoted by a french officer -likely the merchent ship captain-), I would not bet too much on genuine vs repro for the arm patch (according to another post on this forum), plus not sure either for the pair of uncut DEMS shoulder titles. What do you think?

Cheers,

JD

I like the pattern 220A Gunlayer D.E.M.S. badge as a wartime example.
I do not like the spare letters badge and would not have them in my collection.
