The first badge may be original but it looks like somebody took a drill or dremel to it to do the voiding? That does not look like it was voided at manufacture, pretty rough looking.

I think the voiding is pre dremel and looks as if it's punched out from the front |

The basic design of this badge was worn for so long that a seeming myriad of small variations exist.
The volunteer badges to this regiment seem to be a near impossibility; not to mention most other regiments I suppose. I have been so jaded as to just skip by every most every one I see. That home made voided badge is interesting, albeit not correct of course. A nice lot though! CB
