Default Broken Anodised Aluminium clutch pin fitting.

Hi need some help, Received one of those AA modern collar badges in the post,
not well protected and one of the pins with clutch attached has snapped off.

Has anyone tried to repair one of these?

I have some spare Shoulder titles with pins, could i use superglue or that Q bond stuff to attach a new pin?

regards John

Hi Mike, Thanks for that, someone has suggested making a sleeve like a very small straw to join the 2 parts of the pin.

Failing that a phone call to NASA.....they must have an adhesive

You can buy new pins (with round baseplate) and use specialist 'jewellery glue''

A couple of examples :

Clutch Pin

Jewellery Glue

Good find Mike,

I'd be interested in knowing what sort of results you have had with that as well.

In desperation I went into production a few years ago and soldered some ordinary lugs on to small brass discs because I had a lot of broken anodised badges. I then stuck the discs on the back of the badges with araldite, also on enamelled badges that could not be soldered. I had some success but maybe the jewellery glue would stick better. Of course they don't look anything like original but I can at least attach them to a badge board.
