Wiltshire A C F/C C F question
Wiltshire is divided in 4 areas A,B ,C ,D COMPANY each company has 6 towns/school associated with them most being badges to the rifles .three being badged to R.A -Lavington , Larkhill , Sarum Academy , I know from from correspondence with Godolphin school an independent girls school that they are also badged to R .A
Marlborough college cadet corps wear their own badge but are one of only 6 units who wear the guards beret and flash My question is is there any reason why these 2 independent schools are not included in 24 Wiltshire cadet units David |

ACF/CCF
Hi David.
That's because the Marlborough and Godolphin units are part of the Combined Cadet Force which is a completely separate organisation. The CCF was formed in 1948 to administer school cadet units that could form one, two or all three sections (Army, RAF and RN). There are also RM sections nowadays. Outside of the CCF there is of course the equivalent ACF, ATC and SCC units. So they would not be included in the Wiltshire ACF line up. Hope that answers your question and that I understood it correctly in the first place! Regards, Andrew. |
