Default RCCS Collars

Hi

I have purchased these for a friend who tells me that 7 leaves per side is what he likes. I'm hip to their voided crown solid back Officer's variety from RCSigs.ca but do not know the time period.

See pics below

Can these be dated with accuracy?

Thanks.

regrads
Darrell

Sorry Darrell, I can't even see if they are "Royal", pics are too small for me to see.

This style of badge were worn from 1922 through to 1952. I don't have any specific information on when this specific die might be from.

Hi Joe

Thank you for that. My knowledge of siggy stuff is limited despite my Dad being one for 39+yrs!!

I also noted on your site that these are a less common variation. Good site, BTW.

regards
Darrell

Additionally, these collars, with the dark brown/chocolate finish are for wear on officer's service dress uniforms.

Default RCCS (Officers/WO1) Collar

These collars are most likly by "Scully" but!! without a makers mark It cannot be proved.
They are Officers/WO1 by the color and the construction (flat, solid back).
They are a set or a "pair" by the fact that you have the two collars with the beaver facing in opposite directions. (Wear them facing in)
The spelling is correct so you do not have the "spelling varient".
The number of leaves is consistent for all designs.
The crown may or may not be "void" - maybe this occours because of the maker or?? maybe just the "stamp".
These collars are Kings Crown and were worn between 1921 and 1953. the Regular force or Permanent Force wore these, the Reserves wore CCS collars until 1932 (35).
Very nice!! Of course "in my opionion" no collection is special unless it contains a number of SIGNALS related articles.

Hi Larry

Thank you for that additional info. Most helpful.

As I stated originally, I grabbed these for a chum who is into all things Siggy so there will be no mark-up to him. I'm just trying to edumacate myself outside my known areas.

Like that stuff, eh Larry? I have a Broomball Sweater from No. 501 Microwave Relay Sqn RCAF from about 1956.

regards
Darrell
