Shoreham Grammar School CCF
Hi,
Is anyone able to tell me the period during which the above CCF wore an embroidered white on red ST please? It is apparently Waring F T459 or F T1459 and Rawlings 2079, neither of which reference I have. Many thanks in anticipation. Kind Regards, Pete |

Hi Pete.
Shoreham GS CCF appeared in the army list between 1951 and 1963. Almost certainly they were formed in 1948 when the CCF came into being but 1951 was the first year that the CCF as a whole was listed. Like many units they faded away when national service ended. It later changed its name to the present Shoreham College and started an RN section CCF in the 1980's which I believe still exists. Regards, Andrew. |

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your helpful and informative replies. I knew the CCF came into being in 1948, but could find nothing online for when the GS became a college. My next step was to contact the college, but I also do not know if this type of S/T was changed or phased out at any point prior to this. It is good to see that you have the elusive BHASVIC tracksuit badge as I have not seen another one since the one I lost many years ago. Kind Regards, Pete |
