Default DLI BRASS TITLE

Hi folks
I'm trying to sort some DLI badges out and came across this brass shoulder title. It isn't in Westlake and is larger than the one shown at 1350.

This one measures 16mm x 36mm

Could it be Durban Light Infantry and nothing to with the Durhams?
Cheers
Sean

Finding an answer to this question might also solve the problem of these two slip-on titles, one having the standard "Durham" matching the DLI's known title, the other having the large letters "DLI" like your brass title.

As far as I know embroidered titles in this form were only worn by the regiments of the British and Canadian armies.

Thoughts welcome.

Jon

Hi, the Durban Light Infantry did indeed wear a brass title like this from 1921-35. The cloth title shown here doesn't look like it belonged to the Durban Light Infantry, and during WW2 they were the Royal Durban Light Infantry and wore a brass title RDLI. Regards Andrew
