Both badges posted are modern duds, no older than 1980s, I would say.

That's a surprise as that second one came from a very reliable dealer. Why is this one wrong?

Please could you take another look at my second badge (picture on last post) as I really thought that this one was good. If it's wrong, please could you tell me why so that I can tell the dealer who I bought it from.

Many thanks Ricardo. I bought this from a very reputable dealer and was surprised when it was stated as fake. If it is wrong I wanted to know why so that I can let the dealer know. I trust this dealer as he is very knowledgeable and honest but we all make mistakes.

The North Stafford Economy badge has been widely faked and to a very high standard. Being one metal it's very hard to differentiate real from fake if a good die has been used.
Saying that I would replace that one if it was in my collection. I would find one with a more period looking slider than the badge in post 1. |
