17/21L collar dogs ??
A pair in thin white die stamped metal with two lugs North-South. Measure 27mm x32 mm so larger than more recent anodised versions. Are they good and what period of wear please?
Tim

Hi Tim... Merry Christmas
There is a debate on these...... at the moment the collective opinion is that they are a 1970s "creation". I have seen the gilding version in the collars of uniform....... but until I see a photo of these in a period image then I can only assume they have been put onto the uniform to sell by some unscrupulous dealer etc.

Mottos
I started my service with the Regiment back in 1980 and I have never seen this style worn or in any pictures as Griff has said a 1970 creation along with the long arm/boned NCO Arm badge.

Joined the Reg't in '59, the "Golden Years". FARELF, MIDELF and BAOR. I'd agree that this is some sort of made up item. The real ones are always referred to as "collar dogs".
