Smile Westmoreland LI Militia Shako Plate

Hi Lads & Lases,

Well my patience payed off today as a big Fedex truck pulled up and the badge I bought a couple of months ago finally arrived. My contact was traveling for work at the time of purchase, so I knew I would have a long wait but boy was it worth it.

A circa 1855 -1860 (KK 1222) Westmoreland Light Infantry Militia Shako Plate - and what a rare beauty she is too. Pic attached for your enjoyment.

Cheers, Roy.

Wow!

I'm both impressed with the badge, and by the fact you appear to have taken the picture from space.

Wonderful badge

Cheers, Tim

Hi Gents,

Thank so much for that, pretty thrilled I can tell you. Forgot to mention its an officers silver (tarnished) example too, almost forgot myself!

Cheers, Roy.

A Superb badge Roy, you need to share your contacts details if they come up with badges like this
Here is one of my humble examples to the Westmoreland Rifle Volunteers

Thanks so much Gents,

When I decide to put together a small group of Militia Shako Plates I didn't realize it would be so darn difficult. I only have a small collection but love it nonetheless. All the more enjoyable knowing I can share it with you chaps.

As for all my connections - well a chap needs one or two secrets..

Cheers, Roy.
