In the first photo on the left, the Lance Corporal 2nd in line to board the train is "Geordie" Ferguson who served with the DLI during WW2 and after demob rejoined the Army in the 17/21L. He was later my Troop Sgt. This photo, in 1951, shows the woven shoulder titles and anklets being worn with BD. By the time RSM "Ginger" Fellows came along in 1958 brass titles were worn and the Regt, like most Cavalry Regts, now longer wore anklets with BD.
