Help ID Rank Slides
Hi All,
I picked these up as part of a job lot and was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about them. Can they be dated, does the colour on the pip tie it to a particular regiment or are they generic? There was also these two dome things with them, any ideas what they might be (if anything). Thanks a lot, Michael |

Thanks a lot Mike, does that mean they are from a hat of some description?

Generic pips, the metal one is fitted upside down.

The King’s Crown and Bath Star are indeed generic and worn by many/most regiments and corps that did not have their own specific designs.
The ‘dome things’ might be netted buttons. Can you post a picture of the backs with dimensions? Tim

I was wondering about the button type items - faded from black?

Thanks Tim,
The larger one is about 33mm across, the smaller is about 28mm. Can you tell if the cloth ranks WW1 or 2 era? Michael |

So possibly netted buttons worn on Household Division State Clothing by Drum Majors?

Both your slip on and the shoulder strap are for a Lt Col, the slip on is for the desert coloured 'air text' Shirt or Jacket, and the shoulder strap for a Great Coat.
