Hello all! I almost exclusively collect WWI-era Canadian Engineer badges, but I recently bought a small collection of about 80 assorted ~WWI-era cap badges (see below) and need some help identifying some of them. I plan on doing a lot of searching through this forum. Thanks for the add.

Welcome
you have WW1 and Ww2 period badges in your image but would require close ups front and back to tell if original or repro but from fading of cloth appear to have some age

Regards

Stephen

Hello nixonman, welcome to this great forum, plenty of help and information from members here, looks a nice collection of badges you shown, if you’d like to get a thumbs up or down on the badges regarding authenticity if your able to show a closer picture front and back I’m sure we can let you know, just a quick view of them the majority wouldn’t be WW1 era but later, also one non military and one Polish .

Welcome, I am also one of the Yanks who collects British and Commonwealth. If badge collecting interests you you will not find a better more friendly and helpful place.

There are lots of badge books available, in various price ranges. Two that I like and fit my budget are

https://www.amazon.com/British-Badge...9672556&sr=8-5

https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Sea...k%208%29&sts=t

https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/Sea...lections&sts=t

These are not the most in depth books available, but would be good for identifying most British badges, and I like he WW2 volume. As you collect Canadian, they may not work for you as they do not cover Canadian.

Terry

If you look in my albums nearly all the infantry ones are named in there. Start with the Victorian Infantry one and then look at the infantry variations.

Default Welcome!

Nixonman, from what I can see you have almost the complete line up of Guards and Line Infantry from WWII, I think you are missing a Norfolk Regt from what I can see, but a fairly easy one to fill the gap.

A nice collection.

On balance more of the badges have the look of WW2 I think, and that chimes with the Polish and German badges too.
