Despite the best efforts of Parcelforce this arrived safely today: Somalia Gendarmerie presentation cigarette box dated 1947 (14 x 9 x 3.4cm).

Thank you Chris, yes, and probably a rare if not unique survivor from those days. I like things like this that fall outside "badge collecting" as they add to the story of both units and individuals.
