Default Capt Albert Richards, War Artist.

30 Aug 11 - Interesting programme on Manchester and War Artist on BBC 4 at 7.70pm included a brief glimpse of the parachute trained war artist Capt Albert Richards who jumped into Normandy with 6 AB Div and was KIA in Holland in early 1945. Photo showed him in SD with wings and General List collar and beret badges - not many of those in the Airborne I imagine. Maybe somebody recorded the programme?

Very interesting Mike,

As well as the sad tale of Albert Richards the programme reveals many war art paintings that have not been seen for decades.
