3rd RRF
Can anyone tell me if 3rd RRF served in Northern Ireland as the resident Battalion during the 70s. Or did they just do normal 3 month tours.

RRF
They did a tour in Bessbrook Mill some time between 74-76 and lost a few in an OP incident.

Arty, from the Dewar book on NI.
During the 70s 3RRF didn't serve more than 4 months in one go. 8 tours between Jan 72 and Mar 80. However, they commenced a residential tour in Belfast Apr 81 until Mar 83. Hope this is of help to you. |
