Here is my 1st AIF Inf bat Titles , belonged to my grandfather.
I don't see any around anywhere , has anyone else got any ?

Nice to see an original set as worn. The INF and AUSTRALIA titles are not uncommon but the small numerals are. These date from 1914 at the start of the AIF and were superseded by colour patches in 1915.
I have a photo of a militia officer in 1912 wearing 18/ INF/rising sun on his collars (pips on his epaulettes).
The interesting question is just how many other titles there were besides INF. e.g. LH; LHFA; Engrs; ASC; AMC; FA; RAA;LHB;AUSTRALIAN/WAR/HISTORIAN;
AAVC; APC; 2LHB; AAMT; Anzac Provost Corps; PNRS. How many others??

G'day 1100XX and Kingsley

I have a 2 / INF / Australia set that came from a UK dealer a few years ago. The 2 and the INF have short round lugs however the Australia has triangular brass lugs. l also got an AFA and AGA title at the same time, these would be 1900 to 1914 period titles.
