1,2,3 & 5 are all from Bahrain, 4 looks like a Jordanian crown.
Can't see 6 properly we need a square on photo. 6&7 are shoulder titles (uoside down) arabic letters 9ayn yaa sin, not sure from where but I'll ask around 1&2 are police 3 is army, the crowns are rank badges. Eddie |

Hi Eddie,
Wow thanks for the rapid reply! Number 6 is I suspect is just a smaller version of number 4 the Jordanian crown. Many thanks for your help & knowledge. Best Regards Colin |

My Arab DiL points out that the shoulder titles read Issa (ie a common Arabic name) - I hadn't thought of trying to read it as a word. But I still think it's an acronym for something.

Hi Eddie
Probably way off here, but a Google search gave this, amongst others, on wiki: "Issa, the nickname of Luttif Afif, a leader of the Black September terror squad at the 1972 Olympic Games" - perhaps the Palestinians named a unit after him? Regards Graham

After some talking around with my Arab friends I have come to the conclusion the titles are not military.
Issa is the Arabic rendition of Jesus and that's how they all read this "title" It is not, in their opinion, a set of initials because the letters are in the form used in words and do not stand alone. Sorry if that is complicated but Arabic is a complicated language! Eddie |
