7 : Can't see it very well, but it looks like Grenadier Gds. Is that a GR cypher ? No ! looks like VR Jeff

Hi there,

From the info already gathered, I think some of the buttons are:

1. 22nd (Queen’s) Corps, Middlesex Rifle Volunteers. This was made in silver, white metal, black metal and black horn.
2. Can’t make out the detail from the photo.
3. Can’t make out the detail from the photo.
4. The Gloucestershire Regiment.
5. Can’t really see the detail from the photo, but the Swiss Artillery have two crossed canons with an exploding “grenade” above them.
6. Can’t make out the detail from the photo.
7. Grenadier Guards (QVC) – intertwined and reversed VR RV – looks to be Brass
8. Sorry no idea

If you want to put up better quality (bigger pictures of the buttons) it may well help. The maker's backmarks would also help narrow it down to a country & era etc.
