Default Cloth cadet/regt tapes Anglian Para fusiliers (paul PL)

Hi All, can any one tell me anything about these.

My guess at the moment is there a cadet item, there brand new, but I haven't come across them before. Hopefully PL will have the answer.

once I am happy with the ID, I will be selling the Para and Fusiliers and ACF titles

Thanks all, andrew

Andy, i'm no expert on titles, but i would have thought that even if they were for use by the ACF then they would conform to the correct JSP 101 (Joint Services Publication) in their use of abbreviations. for example The Royal Anglian Regiment is R ANGLIAN and i believe the Parachute Regiment is abbreviated as PARA. It's some time since i served but i don't think things have changed that much. IMHO the best place for these titles is the bin (but who knows - as i said i'm no expert on titles) perhaps Paul will be able to shed some light on the subject

Regards Steve

Andrew

I've seen them before on sale at "Army Surplus" shops and at events such as the Waddington Air Show, they are not official in any way and to the best of my knowledge are commercially produced items - I've even seen SAS and Royal Marines versions. Not something I would include in my collection I'm afraid !

Thanks Paul and Steve. I must admit that I will be keeping one, as my collection covers anything weird or not right.
Thanks again

I have these and when brought I was told they were for Helmets.
I still do not know if this is correct or not for Regulars, TA, ACF, CCF etc

Not worn by Royal Signals and certainly not on a helmet.

The existence of the AGC one would suggest that they are post 1993...

Found these today, I am guessing this is what they are for. They have been sewn at the time of manufacture, not after by a cadet.

Hi all
I had these done some years ago, it was just at the time that the fashion was starting for units to have their own designated rank slides.

It was a cheaper alternative both for us (minimised the stock level required for countless variations), and units/individuals who only wanted a small production run.

Can’t remember the exact date (all paperwork passed to new owners when I sold Vanguard products and semi-retired), but it was pre MTP period.
Hope that puts the argument to bed.

I was definitely NOT responsible for any SAS ones, someone else probably jumping on the bandwagon.
