Default Natal Royal Rifles - Durban

Hi All
Picked up this badge which has obviously been cut from the centre of the HP (Owen 406). I can't imagine that anybody would have just done this for fun so I think it must have been cut out for wear on a forage cap, tent cap, slouch hat??? It's been very crudely done as you can see. Any opinions?
Thanks. Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex, it doesn't make sense to me. The badge is a 2 piece badge, so the "star" could just have been removed and worn like that. Regards Andrew

Hi Andrew
Ya, that's what I would have thought but maybe the star was too big for whatever it was to be used for...I just can't imagine anybody doing it without a reason.
Cheers,
Alex

It is a shame to destroy a badge like that, but it may have been done for a genuine purpose. Regards Andrew
