Default RNC badge

Hi All
Just picked up this RNC cap badge. I thought the construction was interesting with unusual flat lugs. Any idea about the vintage or where it may have been made? The RNC badges were only worn for 30 years or so, so would this be a sort of WWII economy badge?
Thanks. Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,
George English had one of these with the flat lugs in his collection, so maybe this was his one

I have in my collection WWII SA Corps of Signals badges with the same flat lugs, so I suspect the RNC is of WWII vintage as well.

I think it is very unlikely that it would be that actual badge from that particular collection, given how common WW2 RNC badges actually are.

Alex,

I also have one of these with round flat lugs and it wasn't George English's.
They appear to be well made otherwise.

Frank, you've got too many badges!

regards, Iain

Hi Alex, I know that there were badges made in Italy during WW2 that had lugs like these. Maybe from there? Regards Andrew

Italian made RNC were normally cast with their lugs or added sliders.

Hi Frank
Ya, I'm pretty sure this isn't George's badge..., but appreciate the input.
Cheers,
Alex

I don't know "George" so I cannot ask him!
These are, however, very nice badges and thankfully, can still be bought for very little money, with considerable ease.

Hi Guys

You can add another, I also have one. As well as a few others including a DLI badge.See link: http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...light+infantry

They are well made and I suspect they might have been 1930's?

Brian

Hi Brian
Yes, I have a DLI like this too. I'd forgotten about it but found it yesterday.
Cheers,
Alex
