RNAS Half Sized cap badge
Gents, I've read in a few places of two sizes of gold wire RNAS cap badges, one being approximately half or two thirds the size of the standard badge, is there any truth in this piece?

RNAS is not really my thing Mike, but I don't ever recall seeing one

I'll have to snap a picture of mine then, I'm interested in knowing more about it.....it doesn't look like a copy at all. I know Margaret Nobbs references it in her section on the RNAS

RNAS CPOs wore the same style badge as todays Petty Officer with a Silver anchor. The badge which is thought to be a CPO's badge (with eagle) is an early RAF Cap badge 1918-19.
There is said to be a CPO's cap badge with a solid eagle but I have not been able to see one. Anyone else? John |
