Unidentified Arab Soldier or Police
Taken in Egypt 1941-43, this poor quality image shows a member of some local armed force - locally engaged soldier with British Army, Egyptian Army or some form of Police field force.
All ideas welcome. 20120605_Egypt_1941 43 which army.jpg |

The soldier in your picture is Egyptian Army. He is wearing a khaki fez cover (complete with neck flap and peak) to protect not only the tarbûsh but also himself from the powerful effects of the sun. A similar type of fez cover was also adopted by the K.A.R. Best regards, Zob. |

Many thanks both, I'll modify the caption to the original photograph which shows him and some comrades posing with, of all people, some members of the Middlesex Yeomanry.
