What i would like to know is that on his medal card there is only a reference to a Silver War Badge being issued, no other medals, did they have to serve for so many days in the front line to get the victory medal ect?it just seems strange that he did'nt get any others.

It might be worth digging a bit further. I had a relative who initially served in the Royal Naval Armoured Car Squadron in Russia, and when it was disbanded in 1917, he re-joined and served in the Royal Garrison Artillery. I have only been able to locate a medal card which takes account of his army service, so you may well be in a similar situation.
