Ebay - Again
Has anyone else experienced the problems I am having with Ebay sales and Payment via Paypal?
When I sold an item I used to get an Ebay email telling me it had been sold and a note from Paypal telling me I had been paid. For my last two sales I have not received either of these and only discovered the sale when the purchaser complained they had not received the item. On the most recent sale the Ebay transaction says the money was released to my account on 27th June but has yet to appear in my account - where like all new payments it should be recorded as coming from Adney NV. I have tried talking to Ebay but their call handlers don't seem to understand the problem about not receiving messages about the transactions Comments and suggestions welcome. Jon |

Your "sales" page on "My eBay" should indicate that you have an item to post. This in turn tells you that payment has been received. In addition your email "in box" should have a message saying that you have sold an item. If you are not getting emails advising you of this then perhaps you need to check your eBay preferences. These may need adjusting.

Jon,
I think this is their 'managed payments' programme kicking in. Regards Mark |

Jon,
Yes it looks like the eBay 'Managed Payments' system and this enables the buyer to pay eBay (not you) via a number of ways including PayPal. Of course even if your buyer pays by PayPal that payment will not show in your PayPal account. Once eBay receives the buyer's payment the process described by Dave should kick in which, according to eBay, means you can safely despatch the item. However, the timing of the 'eBay has sent your payment' message and the actual transfer of the funds to your nominated bank account varies, and, with fees deducted it is not easy to reconcile the amounts received which seem to be combined sometimes with multiple sales. All the above said, I have been on 'Managed Payments' for about seven weeks and it does seem to work! Tim

As others have said it's the new managed payments scheme. Payments will no longer be sent to your paypal account and you no longer receive an email from paypal that a payment has been received but you should still receive them from ebay themselves with this heading "Great news, your item has sold and the buyer has paid. "
Payments are now sent to your bank account which you should have set up with ebay , look for the "account" button and then the "payment" button there you should find your bank details and you can choose the frequency of payments either daily or weekly. I know what you mean when talking to the helpline they have no idea of anything on their own website. |
