Berkshire Yeomanry Collar Badge Dates
I received this little badge yesterday in a job lot of badges. At first I had no idea what it was and after a bit of searching I saw it was Berkshire Yeomanry. Looks like an Officer's Service Dress badge to me but can anyone let me know when it would have been worn please?
Thanks, Bill

It is indeed an OSD collar badge, I have a matching pair as well. They were presumably up to the regiments ultimate demise, but judging by the fine quality your example, I would date it at least prior to WW2 or earlier.

I'm pretty sure it was still in use when the Berkshire Yeomanry was a signal squadron around 2000. Although Royal Signals they were still wearing Yeomanry dress.

"British Army Badges" by R. Hodges shows a pair of these in OSD finish as being worn by 94 (Berkshire Yeomanry) Signal Squadron, stating that they are cast collar badges measuring 3.25 cm X 1.75 cm for wear on officer's No. 2 Dress, so they were still in wear when the book was published in 2005.
