Default Long Shot!

I'm struggling to identify this 1899 dated enamel badge - letters BW and C C evident. Numbered on the back.
I thought it might be sport - possibly horse racing related - but no luck so far. Someone mentioned the B W and 1899 could be Boer War related. I think not, but there are some wise owls on this forum and maybe one of them can put me out of my misery!
Thanks for any help.....

It is a lovely looking pin, but not sure what it is. It does look like it has four letters WBCC on it that might be helpful???

Could it be a cycling club?

As an example (WBCC not listed):

It could be B_____ Wheeler's Cycling Club. It seems that quite a few Victorian - Edwardian cyclist's Clubs referred to themselves as Wheelers.

It could also conceivably be B.W. Cricket Club, but the badge has nothing in particular in its design that suggests either cricket or cycling.

I wonder if it is significant that the letters WCC are in same enamel

Sorry I can't help but I have been trying to identify this RGCC button for some time. No luck with the cricket fans but I hadn't thought about cycling. However, as it is a Boggart Maker Mark it might be too early for cyclists.

Thanks for the replies and attempts to help.

I did wonder as suggested if it was B..... Wheelers Cycling Club, but I think that years ago it would have been either a Wheelers club or Cycling club - both words were not used. The fact it has a number on the back points to a sport connection - Horse Racing members badges were numbered on the back and it does look some of the early examples of those that I have seen.

Interesting to see if anyine else can throw some light on the badge!

I think Carriage Club buttons may be quite early.
